Black Day For Scottish Media

by Bill McMurdo | CRO Contributor

Jim Traynor isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Some Rangers fans are only too happy to dredge up negative things JT has said about Rangers and Gers fans over the years.

Traynor may not be the perfect journalist but as far as The Rangers Football Club is concerned, he is the best we have by a country mile.

The problem we have now is that, with Traynor's departure (a story broken by yours truly), there is no other journo with the testicles that JT has to fight the Rangers cause in our media.

Not that we at CRO believe we need "Rangers men" in our media pack. And JT could never be called one of them.

But we do need people in Scottish media who despise the blatant anti-Rangers agenda that both Traynor and Archie McPherson have recently highlighted.

Traynor's parting shot at the Record eviscerated both those "expert" bloggers who got the Big Tax Case so spectacularly wrong and the Rangers-haters infesting our media outlets here in Scotland.

However, sadly, it is his parting shot.

JT has left the field and there is no-one to take up his mantle. Which means that those outlets which pass for media in this dark, bitter wee country have a free run at Rangers-baiting and propagandizing against Scotland's biggest club.

It is left to blogs and sites like CRO to fight the Rangers corner now.

And, of course, the massed ranks of bluenoses the thought of which sends a shiver down the spine of the haters.
