22 million more reasons for people to hate us...

By Bill McMurdo | CRO Editor-at-large

CRO understands that the Rangers share issue has resulted in a total of around £22 million being brought into the club.

£17 million came from institutional investors and the balance from fans.

The Buy Rangers offer from the Rangers Supporters Trust raised £250,000.

In today's economic climate, this is a great achievement for Rangers CEO Charlie Blue and his team. The monies raised will provide strong security for Rangers FC, as well as giving the club the ability to invest in projects.

As well as manager Ally McCoist, former Gers hitman Kris Boyd and former Chairman Alastair Johnston made investments in the share issue. So too did two Rangers-supporting MPs.

It's a great Christmas present for all connected with Rangers.

And it all goes to prove that The Rangers are the biggest team in the land.

With 140 years of glorious history!!
